Avinash,
Like it says: Out of sight, out of mind. Both apply to me, especially the one about the mind, or the lack of it. As I come back searching for my Sulekha roots, I have lost track of the land which was once mine. And the plot too!.
Talking of books, I have ten with me, all fat enough to blow my mind away.
Crichton? No such luck for me, I am afraid.

Avinash,
The earth revolves around hindsight. That is the most important thing dominating popular opinion today - be it the news channels or the coffee shop gossip. That was wrong, you shouldn't have done it.......types of opinion are the most popular and the most destructive. It is easy to make, hard to dispute.
The frog story and the others were nice ones about prespective. The way one may be looking at something is generally quite different from what another sees it. The difference in perspectives leads to all problems in the world.

Srinath,
Superb. You weaved me through the psychedelic bylanes of mushrooms and omelletes, providing a huge feast at the end.
Psychedelic or not, the only mushrooms I savour are which my wife prepares.
Don't keep the pen down...

I hate myself myself......
for not having the popularity of Poet,
for not having the sense to write something so brilliant,
for having to wait for that 'inspiration' to come,
for being so bland - neither bitter nor sweet.
Madhavi,
In this new era
The longing of Radha and Meera
Is not limited to just the two
But to all who do
Something different, bizarre
Be it love, be it war.

Tanushri,
Easier said than done.
How does one balance environment concerns?
Maximum energy today is used by business - the neon signs, the lighted billboards that glows in astonishing colours throughout the night. Most of the offices are lighted throughout the day as the workers work in the absence of natural light. ACs run for at least fourteen hours in most offices. I am not even talking of the computers, the printers, the scanners, the faxes......
More vehicles in India at least are simply there because of an acute shortage of reasonable public transport. Where time is the key and great demand is on everybody to perform efficiently, no one can afford to wait endlessly for a bus that has no guarantee of its time.
But your concerns are genuine. There is no doubt about that. Leave alone the children (I dread to think the conditions of the earth when they grow up) but look what we have managed to do with ourselves. In less than the time it takes an adolescent to grow to an adult, we have left the earth in shambles.
All in the name of progress.
A very timely post. I am not sure how many are doing something genuine about it, instead of paying lip service.

Krishnan,
Great comment. Loved a different one. My response:
Babloo,
I have no idea which Babloo you are, or aren't, but let's get a few things straight. We didn't stay as neighbours in Mumbai - you can't throw pebbles in Mumbai without annoying somebody else getting thrashed. Besides the Babloo I know was a year younger to me, so this 33 does not make sense. Thanks for the effort, but the slip showed.

Avinash,
This is what I call riveting. Taking in the finer points - the smell, the touch, the air.... It left me flabbergasted - that too only because I have never seen any writing go so deep into the character but also into his actions, his mannerisms......
Of course, I assume Munna is fictional, but I can't entirely believe that you haven't learnt a lot by observing.
Blew my mind away, if I can repeat it.
